Ben and Sheri, Lindy Instructor
323 459 2303
South Pasadena, CA, United States
Ben and Sheri took opposite routes for their Lindy beginnings.
Sheri first started dancing through lessons at Pasadena Ballroom Dance Association (PBDA)and attended as many camps as she could (including Camp Catalina multiple times). She learned of our respected old-timers early on as well, especially Frankie Manning. From there she started going out social dancing at the Derby and PBDA. And continued to want to get better so she could get in the higher levels of the various camps and lessons she went to.
Ben grew up "street" in that he just went out social dancing all the time. He was ignorant of the different Lindy styles and the "Lindy Wars" in Los Angeles of Savoy vs Hollywood. He just knew that when he went dancing Tuesday and Wednesday nights at this place called the "Derby" people danced one style. And when he went to this place on Saturday nights called "PBDA" they danced a different style. He didn't know much about lessons or workshops, didn't know about Whitey's Lindy Hoppers, and didn't even watch any clips until late in his first year of dancing when he found his first partner Angie and soon after his second and "permanent" partner Sheri.
When the two of them met, they both enjoyed each other's playfulness. They then found they each had similar competitive obsessed drives and started working together. And the rest, as they say, is history.

It is with this spirit Ben and Sheri joyfully bring their brand of energy and positive attitude to the entire swing dance community including their weekly classes and workshops, their monthly swing dance Third Saturday Swing, and their dance team the One2Swing Jitterbugs.
If you're intersted in having us out, we teach many classes in Lindy Hop, Balboa, Collegiate Shag, choreography (couples and team) and competition!
