When/where did you first start doing Lindy Hop?
I believe it would have been 1997, at the Yucatan Cantina in Santa Barbara.
Why did you first start doing Lindy Hop?
Basically I got tired of my male friends saying they wanted to take lessons, but never actually doing it. So I decided to go take my first lesson by myself... and never looked back.
What is the size of your local Lindy community?
In Ventura, I would guess about 10 relatively commited Lindy Hoppers. Sad...
How often do you go out dancing or take lessons?
Locally, twice a month... but we drive to LA, on average, twice a week.
What is your favorite thing about Lindy Hop (both as an activity and as a community)?
It would be a 3 way tie between the creative outlet of actually dancing, the history of the clothing, etc, and the amazing people I have met over the years.
What do you do for a living?
I work for a General Contractor: my Boss is a former competitive Swing Dancer
