My Story: I began Lindy Hopping in June 2003 and was instantly hooked. Previously, I was a music major in the swing bands at Portland State University ('97-'98) and had listened to Swing faithfully since 1995, so the music was already in my blood. After playing college basketball and semi-pro ball, I dropped EVERYTHING when Lindy Hop found me at the ole' Viscount Ballroom in Portland, OR.
One year later (August 2004), I launched my own dance business (http://www.StumptownDance.com). In the Summer of 2005, I took a 45-day, solo cross-country road trip, driving by day and dancing by night from Portland, OR to Los Angeles, CA to Tampa, FL to Dover, NH and back home. The following year, I attended Camp Herrang...enough said.
I recently sold my dance business (StumptownDance.com) in Portland, OR and moved to Albuquerque, NM where I am managing my new dance business (SwingMeOut.com). I am also working on some national swing websites (TBA).
I am engaged to Sarah Saxon, my southern belle from Texas, who is an Odolaryngologist at University of New Mexico! We will be married in June 2010!
