My Story: The first time I had a taste of anything swing was at a retreat during the New Year of 1998/1999, at a retreat in Chicago. The next year, at the same retreat I caught the bug and went home to California hunting for places to dance. In 2001, I found the Swing Dance Club at CSUN and joined. One fine day, Peter Johnson comes into the club meeting to check things out, and introduced us to Lindy Hop. That summer I worked in Escondido during the week, would drive to the Old Memories on Friday night for the free beginner lesson and dancing, then continue to Palmdale (where my parents' lived) for the weekend, then drive back down on Sunday.
In December 2001 I graduated from CSUN and got my first job in Fort Worth, TX where I was introduced to Brad Gruber, the Fort Worth Jitterbugs and the Southside Preservation Hall. I stayed there until 2003 after when I moved back to Los Angeles.
